Tekau
We love open ended questions, where we can find a variety of answers and collaborate with each other to discuss our strategies.
We are also using the equipment to share our thinking and find new ways.
Today's question:
On a poultry farm a farmer is collecting eggs. He collected 24 eggs, how many ways could he package them before he sent them to Countdown?

Toru Tekau: finding Fractions
Here we are noticing a whole can be all different sizes. We could easily find wholes and halves easily. We were challenged to find 1/3 and especially 2/3rds.
We do know that fractions must be equal pieces of a whole - we could see this.

Rua Tekau : shake it up..
Using 10 double sided counters we played a game to find all the combinations to make 10. We used reversibility and can see there are 11 different ways.
